Rock Out & Learn.

REQUIREMENTS & DETAILS

In order to have the best experience possible all rock band students must be actively enrolled in private lessons. In this class we are learning to play as a group and perform – we are NOT learning to play the actual instruments. The players in the group should want to bring their playing to the next level. Students are allowed to be enrolled in outside music lesson studios and enrollment will be verified. Interested students are accepted based on instructor recommendation/approval or informal audition.

Since this is a group effort, all students enrolled must be committed to their weekly rehearsal and agree to be available for performances.  Everyone is in this together!

The group meets 4x a month at our Lakewood Ranch Studio

  • Minimum: 4 students
  • Maximum: 7 students

Rock Band FAQ’s

Things happen and sometimes you might have to miss a rehearsal – understandable.  If you have an emergency and can’t play in a performance, that’s possible too. We are generally reasonable, but overall you must remember every band member needs to be there as often as possible.  Students will be asked to leave the band for poor attendance.  Everyone counts on each other.

YES. How will you learn or get better if you can’t practice?

For rock band, you definitely need the instrument you are playing available to practice on.  This could mean acoustic guitar students need to buy an electric guitar or electric bass and an amp, or other accessories.  Singers may want to get a mic to practice with.  The rock band teacher, along with your private lesson instructor can help make sure you have what you need for success in the group.

Many times your teacher will recommend you for a spot in a band.  We are looking for certain ages and levels to fit each group. Beyond that, your teacher will know if it’s something you might really enjoy!  Musicians who are not current students of EFMusic are welcome to join, and would have a very casual audition to make sure they can be placed in the appropriate group.
