Jacque Weight-Lukes is an award winning educator who holds a Bachelor in Piano Performance, an MBA and several teaching certifications.
Jacque was introduced to music at a young age, with her first piano lessons at 5 years old. It’s been her passion ever since She began her professional career at only 14 when she was playing piano for church as a sub for the adult, professional musicians. Jacque started playing winds by 11, starting with the clarinet. In high school, after about 5 years with the clarinet, she added flute and played in the high school’s band. Jacque continued flute training into college while majoring in piano performance at California State University. She even remained active in private flute coaching and performing in community groups as an adult.
Beyond her training and love of winds and piano, Jacque was also captivated with singing. After starting her own private voice lessons, she enjoyed voice so much she almost added it as a minor to her college degree, but stayed the course with piano. Instead she continued training privately and later on became a certified instructor with Singer’s Edge Vocal Program.
Jacque’s teaching career also had an early start, when a music school recruited her to teach privately in her third year of college. She’s been teaching ever since. Some of her experience includes piano pedagogy at CitiArts, CA, advanced piano pedagogy instructor for Bravo Arts Academy in UT, choir director and piano instructor for Brigham City Fine Arts, UT, where she also became President of the Board with a mission to improve the local arts community. Quite notably, Jacque also performed as a non-profit Music Instructor in Clearfield UT where she volunteered to teach piano to children who otherwise would never have the benefits of music education. Jacque also served as Music instructor of voice and piano, both group and private to the largest music school in Northern Texas, the Frisco School of Music where she earned Teacher of the Year in 2018.
In addition to teaching for EFMusic, Jacque is a certified general music and choir teacher full time in Manatee County FL where she creates a music program that children love and parents appreciate to students K-5.
