Edita Urbon

Piano, Organ, Music Theory & Literature

Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, Edita Urbon started playing piano at the age of five with her grandmother.  At age 6, she was selected to join National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Artin Vilnius, Lithuania, a prestigious school where star performers are born  and raised. She remained studying at the exclusive institution for her K-12 school career. During her time there, she would spread out 40 hours of music study time per week across Piano Performance, Music Literature, Solfeggio & Music Theory, along with singing.

She developed the technical and mental skillset needed in order to become a master musician and performer.  During this time, Edita learned she was extremely interested in teaching, and a natural! She found this to be her calling and then dedicated more time to theory, literature and pedagogy.  With this new found interest, Edita went on to her higher learning, obtaining multiple degrees, and diplomas including a Diploma in Oratorical Arts, a Degree in Music Education, and finally a degree in Choir and Composition, all from prestigious Universities in Lithuania.

After completing her degrees and schooling, Edita always maintained a full roster of personal students.  Over the years, she’s created her own unique method of teaching music, with an emphasis on sight-reading. Her love of classical and modern music allows the utmost flexibility in teaching, and brings enjoyment to all of her students, no matter their interest. Not only that, but she’s prepared many students to go onto study music in college and turn their passion for music into successful professional careers.

In addition to teaching, Edita has always held performance and directorial based positions such as Organist  at the Faith Methodist Church in Bradenton, Orgainst and Accompanist for the Bradenton Christian Science Church, and as the Organist and Contemporary Band Keyboardist for the Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch Florida.

Today in addition to teaching for Elizabeth Farrell Music, Edita maintains the Music Director position locally at Our Queen of Martyrs.  Edita also enjoys composing music and speaks English, Lithuanian, Russian fluently.
