Build a practice sequence
Begin with the keyboard layout and note names, then connect those notes to a simple rhythm. Once you can play a short phrase steadily, return to the same phrase to work on fingering, articulation, or expression. Changing one thing at a time makes it easier to hear what improved.
Bring a short passage to your lesson and identify where you lose your place: finding a note, reading the rhythm, or coordinating both hands. That gives your teacher a useful starting point.
