Learn to Play Drums
Drums are the heartbeat of any band. Our drum program teaches students the fundamentals of rhythm, timing, and coordination while building the skills to play confidently in any musical setting.
Our percussion instructors cover drum kit, snare drum, and hand percussion across rock, pop, jazz, funk, and Latin styles. Lessons are structured around technique, reading notation, ear training, and playing along with real music.
Whether you are a young beginner with energy to burn or an adult who has always wanted to sit behind a kit, our program meets you at your level and keeps you challenged.

What age can a child start drum lessons?
Readiness varies by student and instrument. Tell us your child’s age, experience, and interests so we can discuss a suitable starting point and teacher.
Do I need a drum kit at home?
A practice pad is sufficient for beginners. As students progress, a drum kit or electronic drum kit at home will accelerate improvement. Our instructors can recommend options.
How much do drum lessons cost in Sarasota?
Published lesson rates are $35 for 30 minutes, $50 for 45 minutes, and $65 for 60 minutes. Tuition depends on the number of scheduled lessons. See rates, packages, and cancellation policies for the full terms.
Do you have drum kits at your studios?
Yes. All of our studio locations have full drum kits available for in-lesson use. Students do not need to bring their own kit to the studio.
Can drum students join the Rock Band program?
Absolutely. Drummers are essential to every rock band. Our Rock Band program pairs drum students with guitarists, bassists, and vocalists for weekly rehearsals and live performances.
