Make practice easier to begin
Ask your child to show you one small task from the lesson. Agree on a regular place and a manageable time to try it, and keep the instrument and assigned music ready. A specific observation, such as a steadier rhythm, is more useful than judging the whole performance.
If practice repeatedly stalls, share the difficult task with the teacher. The next step may be a smaller passage, clearer instructions, or a different practice routine.
