Jess Parisi
Jess Parisi
Piano, Voice
Jess Parisi began studying music at 5 years old and added voice lessons by high school. She continued her training through college and beyond. For her college education, originally Jess auditioned as a piano principal, but ultimately decided to choose voice as her concentration. This was a strategic move to give her the best of both worlds as a pianist and vocalist. By enrolling as a voice major, she would get similar levels of training on piano, but not the other way around making the choice clear. During college she was active in multiple ensembles, notably the group “Joy” who toured around the country, for which she sang and played piano.
During college, Jess enrolled in a dual Bachelors program of Music and Bible Studies, but due to a complete overhaul of the university’s programming and degree courses during her time there, she graduated with a Bachelors of Biblical Studies in Arts & Sciences from Cairn University, with a concentration in voice and piano. Had programs remained the same, she would have received a Bachelors in Music Degree, with over 50 credits in music courses.
Over the years, Jess has served as co-leader of worship music and soloists (both voice and piano) at different churches, as well as a featured artist for special music programs and events. More recently she has been performing at local events and fundraisers, as an accompanist for student musicians for solo & ensemble, Imagine School and for various other individual performances.
Jess, with an obvious love for music, also discovered her niche in teaching as early as highschool, with her first position teaching choir and music electives to elementary ages in summer camps. She would continue to seek out other educational positions including an internship at a VBS program where she organized then supervised a summer program combining multiple disciplines, and leading youth group classes for middle through high school ages with anywhere from 6-15 students per session at multiple locations in the Northeast and Florida.
Jess combined her passion for music and teaching when she started her own part time private music studio in 2010. In 2018 she decided to join the teaching staff at the Rock Box, where she would meet her musical husband Josh(music teacher for the Booker High VPA in Sarasota). Today, Jess is one of the most requested and loved instructors for piano and voice at the Rock Box Music School!
