Megan Brown is a seasoned multi-instrumental educator and performer with over 20 years of teaching experience. Her foray into music began at the very young age of 5, when her school music teacher noticed her natural talent and booked her first performance singing the National Anthem at a statewide educators conference in Boise, Idaho. At 11, Megan joined her school’s orchestra and studied violin privately. By high school she was performing in All-State on violin and and even played in a college symphony. Megan never stopped singing either. She sang in all her school’s vocal ensembles through her elementary and middle school years, and started her classical training at 15 years old, also performing as an All-State vocalist. 

Megan went on to earn her Bachelors of Music at Chapman University in Orange Ca as a voice principal. Notably, she toured extensively with vocal groups throughout the northwest US, and Europe with the highlight being in the West Coast Premier of the live performance of Lord of the Rings at the Hollywood Bowl.  She continued performing violin in symphonies and chamber ensembles. During college, Megan also developed a keen interest in songwriting and began training on piano and guitar as obvious next steps to facilitate composition.

While in California, Megan was a long-time Resident artist (acoustic guitar & singer/songwriter) for House of Blues, Anaheim and had relationships with Tagima, Kyser, Sonuus, and Breedlove. Megan was also a sponsored artist for NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants).  Megan has been a studio musician and consultant for voice, piano, violin and guitar for Devero Sound Studio in Long Beach, CA as well as a studio vocalist in PHX for gospel/funk collaborations.  She’s performed many solo songwriter shows in LA and NY and was a featured artist in the initial performance of the Spinning Series in NYC.  

Megan has held multiple educational roles including Director of Vocal Dept. & Co-chairs of the Strings Dept. in ElDorado Emerson Private International School in Orange, CA, Private voice violin, piano guitar & ukulele instructor at Orange County Music Academy, private voice, piano and violin for Dexter Music Academy and a private voice, piano and Early Education specialist at Laguna Beach Music.  Megan is also well versed in group classes for young children including Kids Music n’ Motion and Mommy & Me classes.

Most recently, Megan has put more attention in the health arts, specifically utilizing the healing qualities of music.  She has experience working with both diagnosed and undiagnosed needs, dual diagnosis, trauma-informed, addiction recovery, memory care centers and hospice facilities. This experience motivated her to become creator and founder of an education based music program that focuses on emotional regulation along with cognitive & behavioral regulation that’s been successfully implemented in over a dozen health care facilities for at-risk youth (teenagers), young adults and adults.

Megan is excited to bring her specialties to the team at Elizabeth Farrell Music. She’s dedicated to instilling the joy of learning music to the next generation of students!
